Monday was my first day back at work.  Just like riding a bike, except my chest hurt.  So the other day Ohli and I went to visit Nona Christy and Brown.  Their Greek roommate is a concert pianist.  Around 2 o'clock he woke up, came downstairs to have some espresso and invited O to tickle the ivories with him.  O had his first piano lesson with Vigalis.  As you can see here, he's a natural.

Well tomorrow is my first day back at work.  It's not so bad.  Only four hours a day, five days a week.  My rational mind can understand that I will still have 20 hours out of the day to spend with my son, that the four hours I am gone he will be left in the more than capable hands of his father and that working is good for me, for all of us really.  Not only does it keep us above the poverty line, it also lets me do what I love doing.  It's just that I really love being O's momma more than anything else and work really just feels like work.  Damn.  I don't want to go back.  But I do.

Today is my 36th birthday.  That's another story all together.  I certainly don't feel 36.  Whatever that means.  I feel great.  I feel more than satisfied with my life.  I can't believe how fast life moves.  It seems like yesterday I was 26 and dreaming of having the life I have now.

O is LAUGHING!  This is sweeter than honey.  He thinks I'm hilarious.  It's about time a man in my life found me funny.  Here's something funny.  My husband wore a brown argyle sweater, a lime green t-shirt, maroon sweat pants (yes, that's right, sweatpants) and a pine green knitted head wrap.  He tied the ensemble together with his house slippers.  The same slippers our son pooped on last weekend.  The ones that I often ask "what's that smell" when he's wearing them. And he wore this fashion forward outfit out of the house. I told him I was going to start telling people he was from another country.

I miss my sisters.  One lives in Texas and one lives in Seattle.  Both are too far away for my taste.  Over the holidays they parked themselves in my house for nearly 12 hours one day.  It was so wonderful.

Bath time for O is just the cutest thing ever.  And also hearing my husband refer to his son as "honey bunny", listening to him read A Mouse To Be Free and all his funny interactions with his boy.  He's in love with a boy.  Ha ha.  Family life is so much more than the 26 year old me ever thought it could be.  It's better than the fantasy.  I simply love it.  Especially the funny stuff, the amazing fashion and the baby bathtub swimming.

We've had a lot of visitors since O's arrival.  Here are a few photos of our guests.

Yosh came though Lawrence on his way to LA for work.  After 5 years in Japan teaching English, he's back in the states for a while.  So when O gets older, Michael will put him on the skate board and Uncle Yosh will teach him how to surf and snowboard.  That is if O's interested.

We've had two visits from Grandma Glenda.  She thinks her grandson is pretty cute.  We agree.

Old Aunt Amy came by for a weekend visit.  O LOVED her.  Probably because she talked to him constantly and she wears pretty jewelry.  And he knows that she will be the one to teach him the ins and outs of the English language...if you know what I mean.

Here's Uncle Bill.  They're watching old videos of  Pete Seeger playing the banjo.
